Diamonds in the Sky - BWPA Turns 60
This weekend was the 60th anniversary of the British Womens' Pilots Association - diamonds in the sky was the headline. It was a weekend packed with lectures and events to celebrate the things women have accomplished in aviation since the first lady was issued her licence in the UK in 1911 and the subsequent establishment of the BWPA in 1955. I was honoured to be invited to do a pre-dinner display for their black tie event on the Saturday evening, mid way through their weekend spectacular. They very kindly invited me to join them for dinner but sadly I felt rather under dressed for the event!
Sadly the sky was a little grey but here are a few photos taken by Tim Hodges at the event - many thanks to Tim for sharing them with me.
